REMOVAL OF EMBARGO
NEW ZEALAND POTATOES VICTORIAN GROWERS PROTEST MELBOURNE, February 12. A deputation from the Victorian Potato and Onion Growers'' Association asked Mr. T. W. White, Minister of Customs, not to lift the embargo on New Zealand potatoes, owing to the possibility of the introduction of disease and the fact that there was already, over-production of potatoes there, v • One speaker stated that if the Federal Government coulS not help the potato growers it should do nothing to hurt them. Mr. W.hite said that he would convey their representations to Cabinet, but he failed to see how Cabinet could reject the advice of .experts.who. had recommended the removal of the embargo.
