CHANGING OF TEACHERS
At a meeting.of the Wellington School Committees arid Educational Federation last night,a letter was. received from the Thorndpn School Parents' and Teachers' -Association stating, that the following resolution had been passed at the last-meeting of the association in regard to changes in, teaching staffs: —"This executive views with alarm, the harmful effect the many changes which have occurred in the teaching staff of the school during the past have had on .the education of the children of the classes concerned, and advocates that . a permanent teacher on' appointment, to a school and in charge of a class should be^compelled to' give continuity of service ,at such" school for 'at least' two years,1 provided that efficiency is maintained and the teacher does not wish tp leave for reasons of health." It was resolved to inform the writers of the letter that a deputation, would shortly wait on the Minister of Education, and that his attention would be drawn to the question raised by the association. ... ■--■ '.»■.-■ ' v
