CHILDREN'S DRESS
(le the Editor.)
Sir, —Under the title "Children and Hot Weather" in Wednesday's "Post," a sensible suggestion was put forward by an Auckland doctor, his idea' being that for small children there would bo less strain attached to learning in ths hot weather if children attended for half a day only at first. Mention Vai also made that children have been running more or less wild as regards cloth* ing. Small children are mort fortunate than their elder sisters regarding school attire, the latter being compelled to swelter under layers and layers of material, long stockings, and sleeve* to their wrists. Just how long parents and children will submit to this idiotis uniform I often wonder. Medical opinion on the harmful effects of it might move parents to insist that a ' more hygienic uniform—if uniforms must be worn—bo adopted.—l am, etc., , ■. _____________ LB-
