CAPSIZE OF BOAT
' The capsize of a small boat in Pori(,Tua Harbour near Walker's Point last * evening resulted in the death by drown- '! ing of one of the two boys in it. He "was James Berry, jun., of Paromata, "about 16 years of age. With a younger boy, Sam. McCoy, of Golden .Gate, the deceased went out in the boat shortly after 8 o'cl6c£. Both were poor swimmers, and when the little craft upset McCoy had a hard struggle ~-to Teach the safety of the shore, while ' Berry disappeared. Where tho capsize occurred tho water is shallow, but the bottom, slopes steeply into deeper water.
Although local residents dragged the water with nots last night and'the 1 search was continued today, the body was not recovered.
