DEFYING THIEVES
■ Scotland .Yard and insurance companies are interested in the invention of a handbag^which, through a device, raises-a.piercing'warning the moment any. attempt'-is" made to steal it. The invention was demonstrated in London. It can. only be stopped with a special key. The bag can be used as a theft-proof safe, or placed against a door as a burglar alarm. It can also (by being placed on the driving seat) act a* safeguard against the theft of cars, and in view of tho number of thefts of dangerous drugs from doctors' cars a bag specially fitted for mfflieal requirements has been designed.
