MELBOTJENE, January 28. At the croquet championships, the semi-finals of the singles championship resulted: W. T.'McCleery (Australia) defeated Ward Petloy (England); H. B. Poiilter (England) defeated W. Dv Pre (England). "The-final and grand final will bo played tomorrow. Teams for tho first Test, beginning on Friday, are:-r- ---, England: Dv Pre, Poulter, Petley, and Sir, Francis Wemyss. • - Australia: C. J. Miller, J. C. Windsor, McCleery, E. M. Hunt. ■New Zealand: Stratton, Hartnell, 1 Mrs. Caldow, and Mrs. Corbett.
