There was a sensational smash in th« Luvcrlon Hurdle Uuce at the Williamstown Meeting, ■ two jockeys receiving serious injuries. The course record was broken in the same race. The smash occurred at the-first hurdle in the straight. Zetheus, ridden by W. Nelson, and Purple Cap, ridden by D. Wraight, fell heavily and Lanour)' ridden by T. Reardon, toppled over themi' ' Kelson broke a collarbone and Reardon broke a leg. ■ Wraight' escaped injury. Results include:— LAVERTON HURDLE RACE. .'
