KING APPROVES DESIGN
(From "The Post's" Representative.) LONDON, November 27. The King has authorised a medal, which is to bo known as the King's Silver Jubileo Medal,, to commemorate1 the twenty-fifth anniversary of his accession to the Throne, and has commissioned Sir Goscombe John, E.A., to design it. The medal will be worn, by those fortunate' enough to receive it, on a ribbon in tho same way as a Coronation or militai*y medal. The obverse of tho medal has portraits of tho King and' Queen, both wearing their crowns and the King also wearing the Garter robes and collar, and there is the inscription "George V and Queen Mary, May 6, 1D35.'» Tho Teverso side of the medal will have the Royal' cipher with tha Imperial crown, and the two dates, May 6, 1910, and' May 6, 1935. Both the King and Queen gave Sir Goscombe John sittings- at Buckingham Palace". The models are already finished and are at the Boyal Mint, where the dies will be made and where the medals will be struck. The medals will be of the'Siie of half a crown. About 80,000 will be struck, and given by the King as a personal souvenir to persons "in the Army, Navy, and Air Force, and to diplomatists, civil servants, and others in this country and throughout the Empire..1 The King and Queen have expressed their; approval of the' models.;,'
