MOTORING TRAGEDY
INQUEST AND VERDICT
RAE'S JUNCTION ACCIDENT

DUNEDIN, This Day.
An inquest was held regarding the deaths, of three men, Andrew Aitken, W. Stiven, and William McPherson Moore, as the result of a motor-car plunging down a gully between- Rao's Junction and Beaumont.
The verdict was that the deceased met their deaths when the car fell 200 feet down tho side of a steep rocky gully, there being no evidence to definitely establish ; the cause for the car leaving the road. .\ . , Although'the car left Gore with Mr. Aitken as driver, it is surmised ;that Mr. Moore, who intended buying a new car, was later at the' wheel. Tho car was in perfect mechanical condition, and cv.en after the accident the brakes and steering gear were in good order.
