OBITUARY
MR. W. J. HUGHES
The death occurred on Monday night at his residence, 12 Cameron Road, Napier, of Mr. William John (Bill) Hughes, after a short illness, at the age of 76, states the • "Hawko's Bay Herald."
Mr. Hughes, who was a well-known and very popular figure in Napier, had been engaged in his business, with Messrs. Cornford and Langley, solicitors, until last Thursday, and his demise will come as a great shock to his friends. Mr. Hughes was particularly well known, on the cricket field. He had played the game for 60 years and was one of the oldest crickoters in New Zealand. ■ '
Mr. Hughes, who was a brother of Mrs. Sliennan, of Kopua, and of. Colonel J.-G. Hughes, of Wellington, leaves a widow and two daughters to mourn their loss. T ■ ■.-•■'
