JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

PALMERSTON N., This .Day. The Terrace End School was favoured with brilliant weather on Saturday, which was the main day of the school jubilee celebrations. Ex-pupils reassembled from over a wide area, participating in a parade. Congratulatory speeches were made by Messrs. J. A. Nash, M.P., the Mayor (Mr. A. E. Mansford), E: F. Hemingway ■ (chairiman of the Wanganui Education Board), land A, W. Thompson (headmaster).
Mr. P. Fairbrother, who was headmaster for thirty years, called the roll of> foundation pupils, five out of 130, responding.
\ In the evening a reunion banquet was held, several hundred people attending. Opportunity was taken to' make presentations to Mr. Fairbrother, Mrs. Barsanti (leader of the ladies' committee)' and Mr. H. Blackwood (secretary of the jubilee committee).
A commemoration service held at the school yesterday afternoon was con* ducted by the Rev. D. J. Davies. ,'
