RUAWARO MURDER

DISTRIBUTION OF REWARD

Consideration of the allocation of the reward of £250 offered for the detection of the Ruawaro murderer is now being undertaken by the Police Department.

When questioned on the subject today, the Minister of Justice (tho Hon. J. G. Cobbe) said that favourable consideration had been given to the mattor and the suitable apportionment of the reward was now being dealt with by the Department.

The reward was offered for information leading to the conviction of the person responsible for the murder of Samuel Fender Lakcy and Christobel Tjiikcy in October of last year. Late in the year William Alfred Bayly was arrested after exhaustive police ■ inquiries had been made and, in .July lastj he. was executed.
