AN ELUSIVE BURGLAR

Scotland Yard recently took an unusual step in circulating throughout the country the picture of a 13-year-old girl whose father is the notorious burglar known as "Flannel-Eoot," states the London "Daily Herald." Apparently it is thought that she may be with him, and to give a clue to his whereabouts. Eor more than 20 years he has eluded the police, though he is known to be constantly robbing houses in the London suburbs and'in tho home counties. Scores of small robberies which have been taking place with monotonous regularity recently have been traced to him, but so clever is he that he never leaves a clue that will lead the police to his whereabouts. "Flannel-Foot," who is aged 45, was a Reading butcher before he turned to crime as a means of livelihood. Ho was given his nickname because he has a club-foot, which forced him to drag one foot in a limping fashion. However, it is believed that he has' so schooled himself that he can walk without this limp being noticeable. His smart appearance enables him to carry off an awkward situation with the utmost coolness. His method is to seek out houses on new estates, finding a window of the casement variety, which he can open by means of a strong table knife, ''.
