DAIRY COMMISSION
INTERIM REPORT
BASIS OF LEGISLATION The Government has now received the interim report of the Dairy Commission, and Cabinet will consider this document on Monday with a view to introducing legislation to deal with the subject. The Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. Wi Forbes), in discussing the subject this afternoon, said that the Government had asked the Commission to give, in advance, the portions of its report which would suggest legislation, so that the necessary measures could be passed this session. It is not the intention of the Government to release the interim report. It is felt that it would rob the final report of its interest, as it. is in the complete report that the reasons for tho legislation are contained. Mr. Forbes proposes to time the introduction of the legislation so that when it comes down, the final report of tho Commission will be tabled at the same time, thus giving members a chance to consider tho report in conjunction with the legislation.
