A partial breakdown! in the arrangements for handling half a million Nazis in Zeppelin Meadow resulted in utter confusion, delaying Herr Hitler's arrival, an hour.' Thousands of political leaders were unable to reach the field. Herr Hess's popularity was demonstrated when the crowd broke the phalanx of guards and overwhelmed him. Herr Hitler made his usual emotional speech, warning the world not to deny Germany. freedom. He claimed that as the result of Nazi policy German agriculture prices were above world prices, and the new hnrvest was adequate to supply the nation without recourse to imports.
