ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS
A series of special meetings lias been conducted by Colonel Orsborn, chief secretary, in connection with the 51st anniversary of the Wellington City Corps of the Salvation Army. Over 20*0 people attended the anniversary tea on [Saturday. It was.the), occasion for the ! recalling of reminiscences by the older soldiers of the corps, many ■'of: whom spoke at the gathering. Envoy Colley, the first officer of the corps, and Major Hildreth, one of the first, soldiers, took part. ~ At an •♦old identities".meeting at night, tha Key. Mr. Gilmour brought the greetings of tho city churches, and old comrades told of early-day conditions in Wellington and the part the Army took in helping to better the community. '■■■ ~~' y
Three meetings yesterday trere well attended. The Citadel Band, the Boys' Sand, the girls' Bible class,^and the girls, from the Owen Street Home con tributed items during the, day,,helping to make, the gatherings ■bright, sind interesting.
