SPECIAL FIXTURES
The annual hockey tourney for the Pliilpotts Cup between Wesley Clubs is to be held on September 8 at Newtown Park/ This year Wanganui is tho only outside club able to enter, so that tho event will be a straight-out match with the holders (Wellington). The match is to be preceded by a curtain-raiser between mixed teams from, the Wesley Ladies' Clubs and the men's clubs, and in tho evening tho visitors will be entertained nt the annual banquet of the clubs.
A letter received by the Wellington. Hockey Association giving details of tiio tour of the Taranaki sido states that nine of tho sixteen players will be having their first representative games, but tho team is very solid and should give a good aecount'of itself. By tho time tho tour ists reach Wellington for their match here on September 8 they will have played Feilding and Bush Union, and should be capablo of fully extending the Wellington .eleven. On Monday, September 10, they will meet Horowhenua, at Otaki, in tho^fiaal game of the tour.
