ATHLETIC CLUB
The Athletic Club played the first round of the Te Rangiviri Cup yesterday. The best enrds handed in "were J. Bertram, 60, 6—60, and R. Eattray, 72, 12—00; E. Groshinski, F. Gruar and D. Duncan tieing with 02 net. The afternoon competition was wou by F. Gruar, 35, o—3o, the runner-up being A. Kill, 37, 7—30. ■ The following players will play off iv the final for the President's Cup:— C. Wheeler v. A. G. Minifie, E. Barrett v. C. Ilaycs.
