SOUTH AFRICAN WOOL
The secretary of the Australian Woolgrowers' Council (Mr. J. W: Allen) has received by cable an.estimate of the coming South African wool clip. The eatimate is 245,000,0001b. Mr. Allen gave the following figures' of actual wool production in South Africa for the purpose of comparison:— 1931-32, . 286,448,0001b; 1932-33, 320,197,0001b. Last year's original estimate was 255,000,0001b, which was subsequently increased to 270,000,0001b, but -tjife actual production for last year is not yet known. Mi. Allen pointed out that last year's production showed a very substantial reduction on the previous year, and the authorities evidently anticipate a further substantial reduction this year.
