LOW-PRICED TREASURY BILLS.
(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, August 31. The total applied for in tenders for £35,000,000 of Treasury bills today was £60,000,000. The amount allotted in bills at three months was £33,900,000. The average rate per cent, was 14s 4.47 c!, as compared with 14s 3.26 d a week ago.
The above rates are lo'.v. but on September 1 last year the average rate was 7s 1.95 d per cent., and the average for August, 1933, was 5s 4.95 d per cant. The highest rate this year was 18s 4.75(1 per cent., on March 2.
