■ LONDON, August 31. In the Eastern grass-court tennis championships, women's singles, semifinals, at Kye, Miss Freda James (Britain) dominated Mihs Betty " Nuthall i (Britain), 3-6, 7-5, 6-1. Miss Stammers (Britain) eliminated the Baroness Levi, 6-1, 0-6, 7-5. In the men's singles semi-* finals, Lott defeated Shields, 4-6, 6-3, 8-6. . In tho quarter-finals of the men's singles Geno Mnko defeated. Gilbert. Hall, 6-4, 7-5; F. X. Shields defeated Sutter, 6-0, C-4; F. Parker defeated TiSball, 6-1, 6-3; G. M. Lott defeated Bell, 6 : 1, 6-3.
