BUDGET AND CUSTOMS

Parliament next week will devote: the whole of/its time to the Financial Debate, which it'is anticipated will be finished in the following week.' The Committee stage of the- Customs Amendment Bill will bo entered upon after tho Financial Debate ends and will probably be protracted. The whole of the items will be under review, and it is known that a number of amendments will, be presented to the House. Labour members, will try to secure higher protective duties, while a group of North Island members will. support Mr. C. A. Wilkinson's amend: ments to the wheat duties. ;

Forbes), in an interview, announced that there would be an extension, of the Commission's term. TMb would-be done at Monday's meeting of the Executive Council.
