THE STUD BOOK
NEW VOLUME RELEASED
During the week Volume XII of the Xew. Zealand Stud Book has been released for circulation. It is a compendious record of tlie thoroughbred iv the Dominion from the breeders' point of view, and it contains the records of 2250 mares and their progeny, as well as the usual references to imported, stock, stallions' obituary, ■ tabulated pedigrees of stallions and mares, mares arranged under their sires, and much other valuable information for the breeder, owner, and general enthusiast. The latest volume is the moat complete work of its' kind yet .published in the Dominion, and it is a tribute to the thoroughness of the keeper of the Stud Book and his staff. As has always been done in New Zealand, the Bruce Lowe family, to which the mares belong is given. There is no other stud book in the World, not. even the General Stud Book, in which this information is incorporated.
An additional appendix to tho newvolume gives in full the regulations made by the executive committee of the Now Zealand Racing Conference relating to the admission of horses to the Stud Book. These regulations .impose certain obligations on brede.ers and it is advisable that everyone concerned. in making returns should "be acquainted with them.
