OBITUARY
MRS. W. EPPS.
Sydney people living in Wellington will regret to hear of the death last week in Sydney of Mrs. W. Epps. She was an active worker (as Mrs. Charles Walker) for the Red Cross movement in wartime, and subsequently became organising secretary of the Eoyal Prince Alfred Hospital. la 1918 she was instrumental in raising £30,000, and during her time as organising secretary w.as successful in obtaining for the hospital about £100,000. With the Citizens' Committee in 1923 a "£2S-,000 Drive" for the Hospital was held, the total raised being £11,377. She was also prominent as a public speaker and writer, and in 1912 and 1913 Mrs. Walker (as she then was) was Mayo.ress of North Sydney. At the time of her deatli she was a member of the council " and finance committee of the Eoyal Prince Alfred Hospital Auxiliary and was th© president of the "Younger Set," now known as the Junior Auxiliary. .
