NEWCASTLE STRIKE
MINISTER INTERVENES
SECRET BALLOT ORDERED
(Received August 29. 11 a.m.) SYDNEY; This Day.
The strike at Lysaght's works, Newcastle, has extended and now practically all the employees, making a total of twelve hundred, have ceased work. The Minister of Labour and Industry (Mr. Dunningham) has intervened and ordered the taking of a secret ballot today on the question of a discontinuance) of tho stoppage.
