RANGITATA'S VOYAGE
Tlio R.M.S. Eangitata arrived in Wellington at midnight last night from London and berthed this morning at the Pipitca Wharf. Until about three days from the New Zealand coast fine weather was experienced and it was hoped that the ship might break the London-Wellington record. Head winds and heaVy seas delayed her in arriving at port, and she was unable to call at Pitcairn Island owing to the bad weather. While in Britain the Eangitata had new propellers fitted, and it was expected, with the aid of these, that she would make a fast passage. Up till reaching the Panama Canal she was ahead of schedule, but could not keep up the pace when bad couditions wero encountered. Particularly rough weather was met with 1a.«l weekend, when all deck-games and opi'ii-iiir rrciiotition luifl to be iMiifailod.
