The Xew Zealand Football Council las.t night ended the dispute over the venue of the final of the Chatham Cup by deciding that it should be held in Wellington.
A letter was read from the Christchurcli Association asking that the final be held in either Auckland or Christchurch, as there would be a greater measure of public support there than in Wellington. Auckland and Christchmxh, njoreover, were both directly concerned in the final, and the management committee was unanimous that either Auckland or Christchurch should be the venue of the final.

The association regretted that the chairman had not ''kept ail open mind" on the matter.
The Auckland Association staled in a letter that whiile it fully appreciated tho position/of the Canterbury Association, it would be very hard on the Thistle team if they had to travel to Christchurch. Any other centre, however, would be acceptable to Auckland.
"It is a peculiar thing," remarked a member, "that Cliristchurcli teams have frequently objected to going to Auckland. .Vow the position is reversed, and.au Auckland team is unwilling to travel to Chrislchurch."
After a letter from the Otago Association bad been rend approving the holding of tho final in Wellington, as that would not entail so much travelling, a motion by Mr. W. G. Brice that the final be hold in Christchnrch was defeated.
Mr. Salmon remarked that in reality the whole, question was a business one. If asked where the best "gate" could be obtained, he would unhesitatingly reply "Wellington."
