The annual meeting of the Hutt \ alley Lancashire and Yorkshire Society was held on Monday evening, Mr. Walshaw (the president) presiding. The balance-sheet for the past six months and the balancesheet for the annual ball were adopted. The resignation o£ Mr. Akers from the office of treasurer was accepted, regret being expressed, Mr. Akers having acted as treasurer for the past two and a halt years. A vote of thanks was accorded the officers and committee for their past services. . . . „ ' The following' were elected to oihee:— Mr. J. Walshaw, president; Mr. 1-. X Smith, •secretary; 'Mr. A.-Green, treasurer; committee (ladies), Mesdanies Bar-row,-Fisher, Green, Younger, Cole, l\adelifie.), (men), •Messrs, Earle, Woodhead, Quick. Holmes. Craushaw. Messrs Holmes and;Cranslvaw..-wcrc re-elected It wns decided to continue the Thursday, night socials and dances, n.ncl the whist drive every '.Tuesday at ,B.p.m. ;..
