graph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, August 27. •The- Federal Cabinet today briefly discussed the cotton duties which recently have aroused opposition from English cotton manufacturers.

Cabinet decided tli.it it oould take Jio fiction because alterations could be made effective only by Parliament. However, the Minister of Customs, Mr. T. W, White, will have a- census made of cotton goods aifected by the new duties which were on firm order from England before August 2, and in cases where hardship is proved .the Minister will consider remitting the goods provided they are entered for homo consumption before November 30, 1934.
