A ROMAN TOWEL
Beautifully -woven, a Roman towel in a perfect state of preservation has been found in a funeral urn of the imperial era. It is about the size of a modern band towel, with fringes, and was discovered wrapped around tho ashes of an unknown personage of the richerclass. The uru had preserved its seal intnet throughout the centuries. It oontahicd balsam with a base of camphor and Uiis acted as n preservative for the i-loth. Archaeologists think it may prove that it was the custom d> wrap ii ft thr ashes of the dead Ihm'oiv jnrt iin tr Ilietn into urn.".
