"AGONY DAY" IN COURT?,

The Lyceum Club was crowded yo*f terday afternoon when members "and friends of the Vfomon's Social Progress Movement met to listen to informative "talks" on the subject of "Closed Courts for the Hearing of Domestic Cases.' 5 In introducing the speakers, Mrs. G. L. Stewart (who was in the chair) explained that the meeting was called with an educative motive, a« members wished to bo enlightened oil both sides of the question.

Mrs. M. H. Chatfield, J.P., and Miss Kirk, J.P.; spoke very ably in support o£. the proposal, while Mrs. J. Down, and Mrs. A. Willies urged that the existing order should stand. Members listened with keen interest, and at the conclusion of each address warm applause was accorded the speakers.

No resolution was called £ov, but. questions were invited and answered from tho platform.

Mrs. K. Pearson moved a hearty vot* of thanks to the speakers, -which was seconded by Miss M. Richmond and ca*» ried unanimously.
