CONVERSION OF ENGLAND

ROME, August 26. The existence is revealed of an "Association of English Martyrs" consisting of 10,000 Catholics in the British Empiro pledged to pray daily at noon for the conversion of England to Catholicism and secondly to obtain the canonisation of all English Catholics martyred for the faith. Tho English College at Rome heads the organisation, the members of which nro mostly recruited, from English Holy Year pilgrims. The Pope today blessed the students and tho-association, adding: "Just as tho ancient martyrs' blood was the seed of Christianity, so may English martyrs' blood bo the procious seed whose fruit will be England's return to unity with the Catholic Church."
