CUSTOMS BILL
CABINET DELIBERATIONS
Tlio Customs Bill, embodying the new tariff and any changes that are to be made as the result of representations, will not bo introduced in the House of Eepresontativos on Tuesday, and it is doubtful -if it will appear during next week. Cabinet discussed the i'ecommenda: tions of the Minister of Customs (the Et. Hon. J. G. Coates) for three hours this morning, and had not finished its deliberations when Ministers departed for lunch. 'A further meeting will be held on Monday. The Prime Minister (the Et. lion. G. "W. Forbes) said that it was doubtful ■whether the Customs Bill would bo ready next week. The earliest that it could come down would be at the end, of the week, and it might not even appear then. "It is impossible to say," was his iroply to a question conc&iyiing changes in the tariff as embodied in the resolutions carried, by the House a month KlgO. ______^____
