SUPERANNUATION
PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD
The- quarterly meeting of the Public Service Superannuation Board was held on Thursday. Mr. G. McNamara; Director-General of the Post and Telegraph Department, was unanimously elected acting chairman, vice the late Mr. J. W. Macdonald.
Eleven contributors retired by reason of age or length of service were granted allowances pf a total of £2780 a year, and eight contributors retired jis
medically tmfit were granted allowances! totalling £908 per annum, including a. special allowance of £27 per annum to a police officer whoso medical unfitness was caused by injuries received whilst on duty. The board declined, to grant an allowance in one ease, and in another case consideration was deferred pending receipt of further medical cvi: <lcnce. Twenty-three widows .and six children were granted statutory allowances, totalling £869. -
Other matters concerning the adminis1 tration of the fund received attention.
