SUBURBS DEFENCE CLUB

A successful year was recorded in the report of the Wellington Suburbs Defence Ritle Club presented to the annual meeting. Mr. W. G. Fellingham (president) presided. The balance-sheet showed that the cash in hand amounted to £(i lls. while in addition there were '2200 rounds of ammunition still in hand.

During the year a new' System was adopted whereby a scries was Ih-ecl over each range, three shots out of six counting. This 'system worked efficiently and has been adopted for the ensuing ycai;.

The senior club championship was won by T. Goodall. and the junior championship by G. Hopkins. Officers for the coming season were elected as follows:—Patron. Mr. J>\ A. Wright, M.IV, lady patron. Fellingham; vicepresidents, Messrs H. R. Hunt and W. Hutchoson; honorary secretary, Mr. .F. YV. Costello; assistant-honorary secretary, Mr. L. Fellingham; honerary treasurer, Mr. T. Goodall: honorary auditor, Mr. R. E. Hester; team selector, Mr. H. R. Hunt; handicapper, Mr. T. Goodall; delegates to Wellington Rifle Association, Messrs. W,. G. Fellingham, v H. R. Hunt, .and W. Hutclie'son; committee, Messrs. L. Cheyne, C. Milroy, and L. Fellingham. The opening shoot was fixed for Saturday, October 6.
