DIVISION IN AVONHEAD
Tho safety limit for seven furlongs at Riccarton has now been increased to 28, but the Avonhead Handicap acceptance for Tuesday is still five in excess of the new mark, and a division may be required. The C.J.C. committee has decided that if the race has to be divided the stake shall be augmented by ,£3O to provide ;£ls prizes for the second horse in each division. The divisions will be as follows:— AVONHEAD HANDICAP, £180; T furlongs. First Division.
