SILVER STREAK'S MISHAP

CHRISTCHURCH, August 10 Bay Tree, one of the favourites ior the Winter Cup,' attracted attention when he made an appearance on the track this morning. He looks well, but \s understood to be suffering from a slight cough, a trouble that has been in evidence in parts of the.North-Island lately. Cuiie, the Winter Cup topweight and a strong fancy, bears a very solid appearance, and looks as if be has done well since he raced last month at Trentham, where lie was narrowly beaten on the last day. Hostile, who met with a slight mishap this week, was not worked today. He is not lame, but one of his legs has iilled, and though he is an acceptor for the Cashmere Plate, he is not certain to be a 1 starter. Fleeting Glance schooled well when Bent over four hurdles today,. but her form for the Longbeach Hurdles on Saturday is
