RODING RIVER SCHEME
(Special to tho "Evening Post.") NELSON, August 10. ; The chairman of the Waimea County i Council (Councillor J. Corder) at today's j meeting said on behalf of the county that! he wished to congratulate the Nelson CityCouncil on its decision to adopt the Roding River scheme for its new water supply, as it would be capable of supplying the outtying districts more conveniently than by any other scheme, such as from the Maitai River. The county was interested on behalf of the Stoke Riding,, through which the mains would come. On tho engineer's recommendation it was decided to ask the City Council to advise! as early as possible (1) on jivhat basis Richmond and Stoke may take their share' in the capital cost of the scheme; (2) in the event of Stoke and Richmond not sharing the capital cost, the price at which j tha city would sell water from its lead- j ing main from Poorman's Valley to Brit- j annia ( Heights.
