M CARTHTJR'S YACHT
ALTERATIONS AT AUCKLAND

AUCKLAND, August 9.
Tho eighty-ton schooner-yacht Morcwa, owned by Mr. J. W. S. McArthur, who-is now in .Sydney, is still hauled tip on tho Harbour Board's slipway in Freeman's Bay, where alterations are being made to prepare her for the trans-Tasmau race, in which sho is to tako part early next year. This is the yacht referred to by the Company Promotion Commission in its report on the Investment Executive Trust of Now Zealand, Ltd., and its subsidiaries.
I It is understood that the alterations .will involvo the expenditure of about £1000. The principal alteration involves the extension of tho c.ounter to improve the behaviour of tho vessel in a following sea, whilo the stepping of the mast is to be altered and a bowsprit to be fitted to conform to :i changed sail plan. In addition to this her high deckhouse is being lengthened and a rearrangement of the interior fittings is being carried out.
