Ayling and Reid flew 3700 miles in 1851 minutes, including 600 miles blind flying, after which they saw the Irish coast through a rift in the clouds. The abandonment of the attempt at a distance record was due to the freezing of tho carburettors, rosnlting in a loss of petrol. The flyers passed over Stag Lane at 5.55 p.m., and landed at Hestoji sit 6.7 p.nn
