LANDLUBBER'S PROGRESS
.The aged Lueullus gelding Landlubber has returned to Ellerßlie,,to finish .off...his^ preparation for the Pakuraiiga Hunt Meeting (eaye a northern writer). He has been doing light exercise around the roads and looks fresh and healthy, though etill a bit big in condition. It was at the Pakuraiiga Hunt Meeting two years ago that Landlubber had his first race, and he displayed promising form by finishing second to Princess Rode in the Auckland Handicap. He won three races and was placed on six other occasions in the same season ■ his^earnings amounting to. £365 Owinp to nnsoundness he hns since been a difficult liorso to train, otherwifp his record misht Have been much better.
