The annual report of thi Waimea flreblight committee stated that to data approximately 230 mile- of hawthorn hedges had been trimmed as h, preventive measure against the spread of the disease, which made its appearance at Wakapuaka last year, and that arrangements wero in hand tor attention to more hedges before the spring. The committee had contributed over £1000, collected from the fruit growers of the district, towards the cost of the work, and had co-operated with the Public Works Department in the establishment of unemployed camps.
