DISABLED SOLDIERS The monthly meeting of tho Wellington local advisory committee under tho Disabled Soldiers' Civil 80-establish-ment Act, was attended by tho following: Colonel G. Mitchell (chairman), Major P. E. de B. Brandon, LieutenantColonel J. G. Roache, Mr. J. Pearce Luke, Mr. J. Tucker, and Mr. W. 11. Hewitt (secretary). Several cases for assistance ■were received and dealt with. The chairman reported that six returned soldiers were still attending the class in. basket making and several iu'tieles made by them were displayed at which general satisfaction was oxpressed. It was reported that tho 6ales of disabled soldiers' work from the Farish Street shop compared very favourably with those of last year, and great satisfaction was expressed at the good class of goods now being supplied to the "shop. Several matters of policy were discussed, also advertising, and the chairman reported that the sending out. of 2000 invitation cards had resulted, in bringing the shop before a much greater number of the public, who had responded very well to them. A vote of sympathy waa passed to Mr. A. O. Leach, secretary of tlio War ■Relief Association, in his illness.
