TOMORROW'S TEST
(By. f'Dropkick.")
Tho selection of the fifteen to represent New Zealand in tomorrow's Test with. Australia, while appealing in some i quarters in Australia, is bound to give ■ riso to some criticism in New Zealand. Thoso on the- scene should bo, of course, in the best position'to judge, but it does seem at this distance, from reports which have been received and from a knowledge of-the-players' capabilities and the' requirements, that' the ;insidobaek combination might well have, been left as it was in last Sa'turday.'s.niatch. For sorno reason (not' indicated) Griffiths, whose play last week was highly praised, has been dropped" for Oliver, who would seem'ta be beyond his best, although ho is reported as having done well against tho weaker opposition last Monday, Ifc is to be hoped that Oliver will ; be able to fit in well and keep pace with tho fast-moving Pago and Canghey. The forwards, too, do not appeal greatly as a set to oppose, tho Australian pack, which is bound to bo speedy. Several of the New Zealand forwards arc inclined to .be on the slow side. The indications are that tho hooking of the, ball will be -a much' harder for New. Zealand tomorrow than .in the other, games; ns the Australians .. will, ".'h'av.p"..-. Bonis. (Queensland) as their! hooker,. and lie has the reputation.'of being one of thel best ever,for Australia .in this special department of tli© game. If tho intro-; duetiori of tho Queensland backs docs not have the effect upon combined play, the. New Zealand representatives will j have their work cut out to overcome the Australians in the first Test;
