For sending through, the post tin indecent letter addressod to John C. Warnes, of .the "N.Z. Sportsman," Bay Yoimgj■•••a Chinese, aged 22, manager of a fruit shop! iv Miramar, \va3 fined £5 by Mi. E. Page, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today. Detective-Sergeant Bevcll said that tho letter had been written concerning an article in the "Sportsman "in connection with tho appearance in Wellington of a Chinese wrestler. Ho could sco nothing in the article to take exception to. The letter which had been received by Mr. Warnes had been unsigned. .It was -couched in filthy and disgusting language. Detective T. Y. Hall stated that ho interviewed Young at the shop. Young at first denied having written the letter, but Jater.confessed to being tho autttoa.
