Northland Plunket Society.

An enjoyable dance was hold recently in St. Anne's Hall, Northland, in aid of the funds of the local -branch of the Plunket Society. The hall whs decorated with bunting and streamers k and presented a very gay appearance. 11 An excellent orchestra played spirited y old-time and modern dance music and 0 Mr,..Gorton carried out the duties of y M.C. The Monto. Carlo was won by r Miss 11. Bowcoek and Mr. Walton, and t tho spotlight by Miss Scotland and Mr. i, Adams. A delicious home-mado supper t was supplied by the committee. Gapes, Seaview Terrace, Northland, last evening, in aid of tko funds of the i local Plunkef Society.-'. There was a o-ood attendance, and all had a very happy evening. The committee in charge included Misses J. Bu'rdokin arid: M. and T. yon Koiscnberg. The decorations of beautiful spring. flowers and streamers mado a very gay, effect, and all enjoyed the delicious-buffet supper, which was sot in the dining-room. The \ party was in support of a "queen.contest' 1 which is occasioning much interest. Mr. Gapes thanked all who had attended and who had taken so j much trouble in arranging such a sue- j cessful party. ■ Rongotai College. Another of tho fortnightly bridge afternoons arranged for the purpose of augmenting the funds of the Kilbirnio section of the Ladies' Auxiliary of tho j Rongotai College Parents'' Association j took place recently at the residence of j Mrs. R. A. Lock, Tirangi Road. - The | rooms were gay with a profusion: of daffodils and violets and a delicious afternoon tea was . served by the hostess. The three prizes, highest number, hidden number, and consolation, presented by Mrs. Lock, were won by Mesdames Williamson, Elliott, and King, respectively.
