Mataki Gold Dredging Limited report the following official return:—Yield, 290z, for 132 hours worked, and for 13,200 yards. Blackwater mine return for the monrh of July was:—Crushed, 3850 tons, yielding 1901 fine ounces of gold from all sources. The value, taking gold at £6 17s a fine ounce, is £13,022. Working costs were £5454, leaving a working profit of £7508. Development expenditure was £877, and capital expenditure £795. A review of the development work during the month was-: No. 10 level advanced 37 feet south in the blank fault line. No. 11 ( level was advanced 89 feet, all on reef. The average value was lOdwt for 16 inches width. For the last 218. feet, the reef averages 18 inches wide with 13dwt .value. No. 12 level was extended 107 feet on the reef, the average value being ISdwt and width 16 inches. For. the last 673 feet the reef averages 23 inches.and 13%dwt. The connections made at 1385. feet north from the shaft at the lowest reef averages 27 inches and lCdwt. NEW CORNISH POINT. The mine manager, New Cornish Point, reports for the week ended August 4:— South level advanced 15 feet and close timbered, making total distance 115 feet from bottom of incline tunnel. The country driven through consisted of wash of ,i stony nature for a height of three feet above the bottom and contains a considerable quantity of black sand and a failnumber of Maori stones. From development work 9dwt of gold was obtained from 14 yards of wash dirt. The quantity of water making is as .usual, but is getting less in the face as driving proceeds. j
