CHASE BY DETECTIVES
DOMESTIC IN TROUBLE

DUNEDIN, This Day
On hearing that detectives were inquiring for her at tho front door, a domestic servant, Euby Hooko, aged 28, hurriedly left Tby tho back door and entered a stranger's house. She is said to have helped herself to an overcoat to cover her bright dress, and 6d from a money-box for a tram fare, and then led tho detectives on a chase to South Dunedin, where she was captured ■ this morning.
She admitted in the Police Court charges of stealing in September last year blankets from tho Y.W.C.A. The police stated that tho accused had appeared in the court at Christchurch on ii theft charge, and she had assumed the false name of Rita Brown because she to on probation for that offence.
She was remanded, pending v report from the Salvation. Arnij officers,
