MELBOURNE, August 7. Mr. J. A. Perkins, Minister for the { Interior, intends to ask the Federal Cabinet to review the whole method of treatment of Jtforth Australian aborigines in viow of the outcry against the existing laws and recont allegations concerning the severity of M>. Justice Wells's, sentences on a number of aboriginals for tho murdor of Japaneso and Constable JMcColl. • It is regarded as certain in Melbourne that the Government will commute the death sentence on Tuckiar. The evidence disclosed that Tuckiar committed the crime ' fearing that something was likely to happen to his lubra. He surrendered to tho police, who went in search for Constable MeCoil's slayer some time ago. CEITICISM~RESENTED DARWIN DEATH SENTENCES DARWIN, August 7. Mr. Justice Wells resents tho Government's action in not upholding his judgments. He declares that the death penalty has not been abolished, and if tho legislators want to abolish it they should not do so by backdoor methods.
