ALEXANDER MINES.
The report for July oE Alexander Mines, Ltd., shows that work was resumed in the mine on July 12. Stoping only was carried out to procure ore to enable the aerial line to be worked,, so that timber and material can be sent up to the compressor site, at the mine. Stoping has been carried on above No. 4 level north, the leading stope showing a nice reef from 4 to 6 feet in width. The second stope also shows a solid body of ore about 5 feet in width.. All the machinery at the bottom powerhouse has been plftced in position, and may probably be given a run in about a week's time, when the'■wiring is completed. The power line ha 9 been run out and tightened up to about halfway to the mine. The compressor,"receiver, and electrical gear has been winched up to the old cyanide plant site ou the road to the mine. Hope to land on compressor in about eight days', when erection of the plant can be proceeded with. There are 20 now employed in the mine, battery, winching machineiy, and other works. This does not include the ten men employed by contractor. Several surface hands will be drafted into the mine when the machinery is lauded at the compressor site.
